During the period of 1980-1982, Kassav' played all over the Caribbean, using a high-tech approach in staging their concerts. After releasing four albums, Kassav' disbanded for a couple of years, permitting group members to work on solo projects.
Over the years, Kassav' continued to grow as a music phenomenon, recording and touring in places such as Africa, Portugal, and the Antilles. The group went on to still greater acclaim in France, where they were wildly popular, playing to sold-out crowds in June of 1985. Jocelyne Beroard, during this period, became lead vocalist for the group, and released her first solo project, Siwo, which won the Golden Disc Award in 1986.
