CaRiMi with Carlo Vieux, Richard Cave and Mickael Guirand

CaRiMi is a music band comprised of Haitian members. The band has 9 members and it is popular for playing Kompa genre of music. The band did not start with 9 members. CaRiMi is the love child of three passionate musicians who met at New York. The name CaRiMi is derived from the first two letters of the names of the three friends who are the true founders of the band. Ca in CaRiMi is derived from Carlo Vieux, Ri is from Richard Cave and Mi is from Mickael Guirand. All three founder members were Haitian by birth and left their country because of its political and financial instability.

CaRiMi, an Exceptional Haitian Musical Band

After leaving their homeland Carlo Vieux, Richard Cavé, and Mickael Guirand joined forces and branded their group CaRiMi; derived from the first two letters of each of their first names.

They worked together in Haiti about 10 years ago before a great reunion in New York. Carlo Vieux, Richard Cavé, and Mickael Guirand are great friends and musicians from Haiti who have purposed to make music their lifetime career.

The trio took time in studio preparing beats and new sounds that had never been aired in Haiti. After several months they came out with new lyrics focusing on the social and political problems of Haiti. The song titled "Ayiti Bang, Bang" was released in 2001. That summer the group became famous in their motherland being the first young bands to sing about the insecurity and political problems of Haiti.
