Brothers Posse and Don Kato

A Haitian group that is indeed talented and has remained strong since its formation in 1994. The group Brothers Posse brought together four artists who considered themselves brothers. They already had their own identities in the music world long before they came together. "Don Kato" was a reggae musician, "Bobby Star" preferred gospel, "Easy one" was a rapper while "Top Richie" enjoyed dancehall.

Their coming together was an instant hit, and it has sustained the trend for a very long time. In 2003 alone, the group Brothers Posse had more than 250 performances, which makes a lot of other groups very envious of their record. Their music spans across roots, rap, reggae and rock. Their music is not limited to Haiti as it has traversed geographical barriers to reach places as far as the West Indies.

Brothers Posse and Don Kato have participated in concerts where they have shared the stage with musical big shots such as Beenie man and Buju Banton. In 2002 they took part in the Carnival of Port au Prince. In 2004 the band was in Paris, France, where they stole the show in the "Ayiti Cheri" Festival.

The band Brothers Posse and star musical star Don Kato take pride in being the first musical group to shoot a film. "I love you Anne" is the name of the film that sold over 15,000 tickets during its launch. It went ahead to win the Golden Ticket award for the best film, best supporting actor and best actor.

As the group prepares to launch its third album, it is worthwhile to note that the message they preach has a rich social message, encouraging use of dialogue and non violent means to achieve national coherence and peace. Antony Cheramy, whose stage name is "Don Kato" is the lead singer of the group.
