There is no more rumors. The Official list of the musical bands that will be part of the 2014 Kanaval in Gonaives has been released. Like many who have been waiting, the question is: "Is Brother's Posse in?

No, King Posse is not in it. Don Kato will probably not even be allowed to travel to Gonaives during the three days.

Don Kako just released its 2014 Kanaval, Show Show Net. The release took place this Sunday, February 2nd, in Radio Caraibes. Don kato in an interview at Radio Caraibes on Sunday January 2nd released its Kanaval for 2014.

This is so far the Kanaval that has created so much controversies in Haiti. I learned that because of this Kanaval "Aloral" Brothers Posse out of the list of the musical bands allowed to participate in the National Kanaval in Cap-Haitien. Obviously, the Government of Martelly-Lamoth did not think it is a good idea to let Brothers Posse to make things harder for them. However, pressures from a variety of sectors in the Haitian society was mounting against the government for that decision. Many members of the Haitian media had criticized the government for not allowing Brothers Posse who made a popular Kanaval this year to be excluded from the list.

A Haitian group that is indeed talented and has remained strong since its formation in 1994. The group Brothers Posse brought together four artists who considered themselves brothers. They already had their own identities in the music world long before they came together. "Don Kato" was a reggae musician, "Bobby Star" preferred gospel, "Easy one" was a rapper while "Top Richie" enjoyed dancehall.

Their coming together was an instant hit, and it has sustained the trend for a very long time. In 2003 alone, the group Brothers Posse had more than 250 performances, which makes a lot of other groups very envious of their record. Their music spans across roots, rap, reggae and rock. Their music is not limited to Haiti as it has traversed geographical barriers to reach places as far as the West Indies.
