DJA-Rara Music Video and Carnival

DJA-Rara Kanaval Music Video Zwazo Vole was selected as one of the top 10 Carival Songs of 2007.

Rara is a musical style developed in Haiti, which is most frequently used for parades and marches. It is especially common to see rara used the week of Lent, and throughout the weeks leading up to Easter.

Old rara, from a thematic standpoint celebrates the culture of the Haitians, their connection to Africa, and the Haitian Voodoo beliefs. Modern rara may be composed to address social and political issues. Sometimes political candidates hire rara composers to write songs for them to use in marches during their campaigns.

Latest from Djakout Mizik

Djakout Mizik is a popular Haitian Compas band. On New year's eve on MTV in 2007, they performed with Wyclef Jean. This was their first appearance on an American network television. In February 2008, they were crowned the best carnival band in Haiti for their energetic performance of Kalòt Marasa (two slaps).

In May 2006, members of Djakout Mizik were shot at while getting out of a van. Thankfully, none of the members were hurt and they had one of their most successful hit about this incident, Eskive.

Edith Lefel (November 1963, Cayenne - 20 January 2003, Dreux) was a French singer born in French Guiana.

She grew up in Martinique and has become a popular zouk-love singer. Her popular career began in 1984, when she worked with Jean-Michel Cabrimol's Maffia.

Edith Lefel began working with the big band Malavoi in 1987. Her last recent album came out in 2002, and used elements of beguine, mazurka and merengue. She died in her sleep. Autopsy results revealed a combination of smoking and birth control pills as the cause of her demise.

Barikad Crew was founded in 2002 at Avenue Nicholas, Port-Au-Prince by a bunch of young kids who were infected by Rap music fever.

Thereafter, in a Telemax Christmas competition, Barikad was highly ranked. Their 2005 meringue Carnavalesque and the video clip, n ap trip, was a big success. However for unknown reasons, Barikad could not get people or companies to sponsor their sound system and float.

Far from being discouraged, Barikad kept soldiering on. By the time they released the Coupe Cloure Ban m afè m adaptation, Port-Au-Prince was already conquered. In 2006, Barikad won the ticket D'Or as the best Haitian Band.[bb]

SDL is a Haitian hip hop group. Haitian hip hop is hip hop music originating from Haiti and sung by artists of Haitian descent. The most popular form of this is the rising of "Hip Hop nan Kreyol" or Creole (Haitian Creole) Hip Hop. Often, hardcore beats are used while the artist raps in creole. Creole hip hop though relatively new, has become very popular with Haitian youth.

Sonia Dersion is a singer of Zouk Caribbean. She was born on January 14, 1971. This is the title "Tou piti" on the album'S GIANT in 1994 which revealed to the public.

Sonia Dersion, a native of the Antilles, is an artist who is not his first coup d'essai. "Tout va bien" released in 1997, had already sold more than 80 000 copies with the success of the song "Natirel" sacred in September 2000 as the best for the year 1999 the Tropical Music Awards. Groov la - Haiti Music Video of The Week for June 14, 2008

Groov la consist of 4 members Stephane Gilles (Keyboard), Sachiel Termilus (Guitar), Fedner Orelien (Bass) and Richard Nemorin (Lead Vocalist).

Since their debut, the group has performed in major events such as the Haitian Independence Day festival in July, the Caribbean Carnival in Homestead Florida, the Roots Festival, formerly the Rasin Festival this past November, and have even been requested for a private party at the residence of Miami mayor Alex Penelas.

Without a doubt it is probably the most difficult, and challenging time for a group to venture into the Haitian Music Industry considering there is somewhat of an impression that the best of "compas" has already been exploited, however, it is safe to say that Groov' La has every reason to look to the future with optimism and hope.

Loony Johnson, The next generation of Cape Verdian singers, is at his best in this music video. Loony Johnson was born in portugal / Lisbon, on November 24, 1981. His real name is Anthony Miranda. At the age of 6, he was already showing his talent. After hearing him singing and dancing to the sound of music by Michael Jackson, a major producer decided to put him under his wings.
