Fabrice Rouzier, one of the founders of Mizik Mizik, has described his departure as, "Dear friends, the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; the name of the Lord be praised! We are suffering terribly from the loss of our brother this morning Erick Charles."

Eric Charles will be remembered especially for some of his wonderful songs of comfort, love, commitment, and social satires like "Sa poun fè", "Black Out", "Je vais...", "Ayizan". The Haitian Ministry of Culture and former President Michel Martelly have expressed their words of sympathy on the early departure of Eric Charles.
