Richie and Pipo Make Controversial Music Video

Group leader and vocalist-percussionist, Jean Herard Richard, has resigned from Zenglen. A long-time member, Richard, or more familiarly, Richie, decided he wanted a solo career.

He has joined with Pipo of KLASS and made the music video "You Don't Want Me". Criticism has been that no Haitian model was used in the video, which will make for a large and curious viewing audience.

Zenglen is auditioning a new singer to replace Richie, and work with Kenny Desmangles.

Gazman Pierre (Couleur) of Disip honored by Miami County Commissioner Jean Monestime

Gazman Pierre, also known as Gasman Pierre, was a Haitian artist. He was born on 22nd August in Gonaives. Interestingly, Gazman loved football and had a vision of being a football player but his dream changed when he got a knee injury. This made him to turn to music which was his second vision.

His family moved to United State in 1980. Despite his mother being against music as a career, Gazman began singing as a solo singer. In 1992 he joined a group known as Yeah Bah and launched an album by the name of An nou fe'l a de". He then joined Zenglen Plus and changed its name to D'Zine. D'Zine recorded many songs like Haiti, Lavi en exile and Deal With It. D'Zine had some conflict and Gazman Pierre decided to leave.

The music video from Gracia Delva

The Haitian artist Gracia Delva was born in November 20,1973 at Marchand Dessalinnes (Artibonite), Haiti. He made his beginnings within the young musical formation Gerostar. Gracia thereafter integrated Djakout Mizik of which it made the beautiful days as well with the Field of Mars (Champs De Mars, Haiti) as on Eastern Parkway for the carnival of Labor Day in New York.

When Gracia Delva went to Zenglen, they had some great success and thereafter; because of certain problems with the American Immigration & Naturalization Services, Gracia had to leave the USA to be re-established in Haiti.

The music of Zenglen

Classic and professional are two words that come to mind with Zenglen, one of today's best konpa bands. Professional, because when Zenglen is in concert, whether it's playing for two hundred or six hundred people, the band gives it all. Zenglen is also Classic, because Richi delivers a smooth sound, reminiscent of the great bands of yesteryears. Those bands of earlier days created the classic konpa sound, and Zenglen is continuing that tradition.

With his new Lead Singer, Kenny Desmangles, Zenglen is really on top of his game in this music video of the week.
