The music of Joe Jack

Joe Jacques, a teacher, a musician, a singer, a lyricist, an accordionist and also a keyboard player was born in Gonaives on 25th may, 1936. We know very little about his childhood or early days of struggle all we know about him is that he was a blind at birth and he has never seen sunshine entire his life.

It is said that St-Vincent was the first institution that he joined in Port-Au-Prince for studies. When Joe was at the nineteenth year of his age, he took admission in Perkins School Boston, Massachusetts. Perkins was a special school for blinds; Joe Jacques studied there for four years and then came back to his loved land Haiti where he served as an English teacher for 11 years.

Anna Pierre, Entertains and Educates About HIV/AIDS Safe Sex Practices

Haitian-American Anna Pierre, entertainer and public health nurse, bridges her worlds in a unique way. She has crafted public service announcements (PSAs), to educate the public on HIV/AIDS transmission and its prevention.

Anna Pierre, when not performing, works as a Registered Nurse at Miami, Florida's, Jackson Memorial Hospital. She earned her Master's Degree in Public Health at Florida International University, doing research on the causes, transmission rates, and nature of communicable diseases.

Anna Pierre started a non-profit in 1990, APHEC, an education program designed to disseminate information on HIV/AIDS.

Maestro Arly Lariviere working on Solo Album

Nu Look is one of Haiti's most influential and popular Konpa bands to date. But due to the growing conflicts among its members, chances of the band ever playing music again is highly improbable as of the moment. They have been cancelling their gigs and appearances both inside and outside Haiti for the past months.

After the argument between Nu Look's Pipo and Maestro Arly Lariviere during one of their gigs, the two are rumoured to not be in speaking terms with each other. And both are planning on releasing a solo album amidst the controversial conflict within the band.

After five years of studies in singing jazz and varieties at the Centre for Information and Activities Musicales de Bordeaux, Jimmy Dévarieux returned to Guadeloupe in 1996 and joined the group Kwebee.

Jimmy Devarieux produced three singles "Magic Dream," "Annie" and "bye bye Baby", takes part in the soundtrack of the film "Antilles on the Seine" by Pascal LEGITIMUS in which the group made a brief appearance.
