In hip-hop and reggae, rapping is its key element, but it's not easy. It takes years of experience and skill to master the art of rapping, which makes Haiti's Top Adlerman one of the best hip-hop artists and rappers in the Caribbean.

Adlerman started his music career with the popular Haitian reggae band MC Original Rap Staff, also known as ORS, in the early 1990s. He was mentored by the famous Master DjiTop, which further improved his musical talent and skills. One of their most widely-acclaimed albums of Adlerman and the rest of ORS is Nap Toujou La which was produced and released in 1999. It included hits like "Lov Mwen", "Feeling Pa'm", "Konpliman", "Manvi Danse", and "Eklips". After ORS, Adlerman established his solo career and is now a very successful Haitian rapper. He recently teamed-up with Haitian YouTube sensation Isemylee for the song "Marozo", a soundtrack on the upcoming Creole soap opera of the same name.

Aside from Adlerman, Haiti has a handful of rising hip-hop stars like Mystik 703, RockFam Lame-a, Barikad Crew, Young Rich, Jimmy O, Magik Click, Grimo, and Seca Konsa. One of the most notable new generation artists is Solo who has a unique story-telling style in his music like the late U.S. rapper and hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur.
