When Gasman Pierre was young, his dream was to be a professional football player. A knee injury would put paid to that aspiration, leaving the field open for the birth of Gazman Couleur, one of the most prolific artists in Haitian music. In the 1980s, Couleur began his career as a solo artist, then, in the early 1990s he became part of the group Yeah Bah, and they released their one and only album, "An nou fe'l a de". He then became part of the group D'Zine, formerly known as Zenglen Plus, and found success with hits such as, "Deal With It", "Saint-Jacques", and "Apocalypse".
