The stated leader of Kompa music, System Band, returned to the scene with a much-anticipated comeback in April of 2014. The announcement came out of the Nova Image Media Group, Inc. in a press conference held on the 15th of the month, stating that the band would once again pioneer the uniquely Haitian genre of music. The news was met with much glee by Kompa lovers internationally. Since the group's inception in 1980, they have instrumentally shaped the progress of the genre that is still pushing forward for more recognition.
