Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: Rio Carnival is thought to be the biggest of such celebration in the world. It begins 40 days before Easter. About two million people (including half-million tourists) turn out on Rio's streets every day to watch the performances from around 200 samba schools and 300 neighborhood street bands with floats and marchers. Since carnival is celebrated in late summer in Brazil, it pushes the boundaries of near-nudity. Its USP is the Sambadrome, a colossal purpose built stadium for Carnival parade.
