Konpa, Kompa or Compas has remained the traditional music closed to the hearts of many in the Caribbean for a long time. With the foundation of "Klass" by Jean H. Richard or maestro Richie in April 2012, a new generation took over the charge of reshaping Haitian Kompa genre. 'Klass' is an up-and-coming Haitian band which has brilliant lyrics, unique sound and devoted fan base. Their first album "Fe'l Vini Avan" immediately has put them in the musical map of Haiti, U.S.A and beyond. Their lyrics are so powerful where words fail and music speaks. Richie and Pipo Make Controversial Music Video

Group leader and vocalist-percussionist, Jean Herard Richard, has resigned from Zenglen. A long-time member, Richard, or more familiarly, Richie, decided he wanted a solo career.

He has joined with Pipo of KLASS and made the music video "You Don't Want Me". Criticism has been that no Haitian model was used in the video, which will make for a large and curious viewing audience.

Zenglen is auditioning a new singer to replace Richie, and work with Kenny Desmangles.

Klass Music Band, a reunion of Richie and Pipo

Richie and Pipo Make Music in the Key of Harmony.

The rumor mill has been churning out reports should Pipo sign with Klass and its controversial leader Richie, it would spell disaster. Richie is reputed to be difficult and Pipo to possess an over-sized ego.

But some observers disagree and say Richie is easy-going and can handle Pipo's narcissism. Some feel it is Pipo's weakness that will ruin the band's success. They have always been a sought-after group to sign whenever the time came for a label change. But fears the two could clash have fans worried Klass might even lose the record contract they are currently signed to.

Gazman Pierre (Couleur) of Disip honored by Miami County Commissioner Jean Monestime

Gazman Pierre, also known as Gasman Pierre, was a Haitian artist. He was born on 22nd August in Gonaives. Interestingly, Gazman loved football and had a vision of being a football player but his dream changed when he got a knee injury. This made him to turn to music which was his second vision.

His family moved to United State in 1980. Despite his mother being against music as a career, Gazman began singing as a solo singer. In 1992 he joined a group known as Yeah Bah and launched an album by the name of An nou fe'l a de". He then joined Zenglen Plus and changed its name to D'Zine. D'Zine recorded many songs like Haiti, Lavi en exile and Deal With It. D'Zine had some conflict and Gazman Pierre decided to leave.
