Konpa Music is very popular in the Haitian audience. In fact, it has its cultural origins in Haiti. For successful paying of the Konpa music, a number of instrumentals were important. This includes drums, cowbell, guitars, keyboards, horn section, modern synthesizer and Conga. Many groups of musicians who played this kind of music enjoyed popularity during the 60s through 90s due to the uniqueness of the base mainstream. It therefore follows that the music attracted many audiences during this period of popularity.
As time went by, Robert Martino introduced a new generation of sounds. As the co-founder of Gypsies de Petion Ville, he created a mini Jazz style thus creating diversity to the Konpa music. He also introduced all the guitar sound effects to the Konpa music.
