Luck Mervil, Crusader for Quebec Independence, Receives Honor

Beginning in 2000, he launched a film career with a part in "Betty Fisher et Autres Histories", playing the character François Diembele. In his second film, "Le Goût des Jeunes Filles", he both acted and wrote the score. His last film, made in 2004, "C'est pas Moi, C'est L'autre", he appeared in the role of Dieudonné.

Prior to his film career, Luck worked in television. In 1997, he played Christopher Étienne on the series "Sauve qui Peut!" He also hosted two shows, "Piment Fort", a game show, and "MixMania" on VRAK TV. His one concert performance in English, recorded for Montréal TV, "The Mess Age", aired in 2002.

Luck has become a fervent advocate for Quebec Independence. A province located on the east coast of Canada, Quebec is French-speaking in a country where English is the official language. As a result of his commitment to Quebec's fight for independence as a sovereign state, Haiti's Saint Jean-Baptiste Society bestowed upon him the honor of "Patriot of the Year" in 2005.
