He began singing and playing music while enrolled at schools in Cap Haïtien. During those years, he played trombone in his school band and sang for the Petit Orchestre.

In high school, Jean-Claude co-founded ACNDA, made up of music students, who attended schools in Cap Haïtien. Some of the group's members, who later achieved recognition, were La Riviere Rouge, Le Torrent, Gouverneurs de la Rosee, and Bourgeois Gentilhomme. Becoming well-known around Cap Haïtien for his tenor voice, he was invited to sing with Chorale Solidarite du Sacre-Coeur. They made an album De Men Kontre, featuring Jean-Claude as solo artist.

In 1974, after completing his studies in Cap Haïtien, he moved to the U.S. and enrolled at Pace University, majoring in Economics. He then earned his Masters in International Finance and Banking.

As a professional musician, he has played the stages of premiere venues in the U.S.: Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music have hosted him.

While studying acting at Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory, he co-founded an arts organization, Theatre Mapou de Washington, in 2000. Plying his acting skills there, he starred in several Haitian and French productions.

Jean-Claude is a whirlwind of creative activity. He moves from marital and parental duties, to his job as a finance officer, to singing and acting projects, and to business travel in Europe and South America.
