The music of Joe Jack

Joe Jacques, a teacher, a musician, a singer, a lyricist, an accordionist and also a keyboard player was born in Gonaives on 25th may, 1936. We know very little about his childhood or early days of struggle all we know about him is that he was a blind at birth and he has never seen sunshine entire his life.

It is said that St-Vincent was the first institution that he joined in Port-Au-Prince for studies. When Joe was at the nineteenth year of his age, he took admission in Perkins School Boston, Massachusetts. Perkins was a special school for blinds; Joe Jacques studied there for four years and then came back to his loved land Haiti where he served as an English teacher for 11 years.

Joe Jacques Journey to Wholeness and Connection

Joe Jacques, a multi-talented musician, began life in Gonaïves, born on May 25, 1936. He completed his education in Port-au-Prince, studied in the U.S., and received his teaching certificate in 1954. Upon returning to Haiti, he taught English for 11 years.

He discovered his calling as a musician at age 36 and studied to become an accomplished musician. He portrays themes of isolation, distress, past mistakes, and inner visions that have long permeated his soulful music. His style resembles the Delta Blues, and its simplicity touches and inspires listeners. He connects with the listener on a deep, emotional plane and draws them into his world, both emotionally and physically dark. Joe Jacques has been blind from birth.

Cafe Griye by Eline Fleury - The Haitian Music Video

Who is Eline Fleury? Marie Eline Fleury was born and orphan in Port-Au-Prince on January 28th. She made her traditional studies in Haiti at College Fernand and the C.E.C. She spent four years studying Economics with the IHECE. Eline went on to work as a professional radio host for "Radio Soleil" and "Radio IBO." She stimulated her audience on a daily basis. In July 2004 Eline founded "ELINE ENTERPRISE," a company of musical animation and spectacle production, with Lebel Junior Jean Baptiste, Chief Operating Officer. Since Eline was a little girl, she took pleasure in singing. She said to herself that becoming a singer is what she really want. Eline performed with several groups and sang in the church. She later decided that she would no longer perform with the groups and decided to go solo. Then she started to make piano bar. Towards the end of the year 2004 and the beginning of the year 2005, Eline released first single, "Mete m Nan Agenda W." A couple of years later in January 2007, she would go on to relase her second single, "Kafe Griye."

The Biography of Ti Corn, the Haitian Singer and Songwriter

Born to German parents, Ti Corn hails from Caribbean island of Haiti. She loved playing gutter and singing Creole songs while still at a tender age. Ti Corn, has captivated this love for Creole songs and often could sing in any event or country in which she is called upon to perform. This is motivated by the fact that in her home area of Haiti, almost everyone was either a singer of loved singing. Ti Corn is just the product of the surrounding during her time when he was growing.
