Carnival is an opportunity to lampoon the rich and famous in Haitian politics, entertainment, and at-large. In 1986, a mockery of Haiti dictator Duvalier occurred. A Compás group drove an effigy of Duvalier jammed inside a coffin through the streets of Port-au-Prince.
