On August 8, 2012, Haitians protest government's slum destruction plan that was planned to destroy their hillside shanties for a flood-control project without providing suitable rehabilitation package; (4) On November 19, 2013, there was a protest by Haitians where the protesters had clashed with police as thousands rallied to demand the resignation of President Michel Martelly; (5) On January 15, 2015, the former Port-au-Prince mayor and the new Prime Minister Evans Paul, chosen by President Martelly was received by his opposition activists with street protests; (6) On February 9, 2015, several protest organizers were injured during a two-day protest against the high cost of fuel; and (7) Recently on November 7, 2015, the police used tear gas to disperse supporters of presidential candidates Jude Celestin and Moise Jean Charles. They were protesting against the results given by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) favoring the outgoing president Martelly's candidate Jovenel Moise.
