Haiti kanaval period in 2015

A Haitian kanaval, or carnival as it is one of the largest Mardi Gras events in the Caribbean and in North America, requires a pretty big budget. The event includes huge floats with bands onboard who, like a konpa-playing series of pied pipers, draw the crowd out to celebrate in the parades with attract adults, children, locals and tourists alike. Usually, this big bill, escalated as well by the expensive, colorful and eye-catching costumes, is paid for to at least 80% by the private sector with the additional 20% coming from the public treasury.
