When we think about Les Freres Dejean, we can not stop thinking about the wonderful time of "mini Jazz" in Haiti.

Let's go back to the period of the 1970's and 1980's in Haiti.

Beside Les Freres Dejean de Petion-Ville, how can we forget about these bands including Les Fantasies de Carrefour, Les Shleu- Shleu, Les Embassadeurs, Bossa Combo, Les Gypsies, Les Difficiles, Tabou Combo, and others that really marked that period in Haitian music.

One can also remember that in that great period of Les Freres Dejean de Petion-Ville, the bands at that period were competitive rivals as musicians, they were at the same time best friends.

Les Freres Dejean created an interest never seen before in the Haitian music scene.

They captured the spirit of the Haitian population.

Les Freres Dejean called quit at the top of their game. After the recording of a popular album, the band split to create the "System band" another successful band as well.

Les freres Dejean de Petion ville with one of their biggest hit "malere".

You can see why they are, indeed, the "creme de la creme" of Kompa music

Les Freres Dejean is probably the most sophisticated Compas band I have ever heard.

There harmonies, percussion break, and turnover really show the musicality of this band.
