Musique Multi-Montreal

The Media - April 9 2009, 2:56 PM

In 1990, Liette Gauthier founded Musique Multi-Montréal from which she was able to contribute locally to the development of world music.

Nineteen years later, the Musiques et Monde Festival from Musique Multi-Montréal brings together 115 artists, the majority coming from other places but with roots in Montreal, eight national guests and an international artist.

From April 17 to 25, it will be possible to discover these stars at large concerts or more intimate shows at the Maison de la culture Ahuntsic-Cartierville (10 300, Lajeunesse Street, first floor).

Those who perform will feature sounds from Latin America, Africa and Australia in particular.

This event has the characteristic of creating 'musical marriages.' This will be the case on Saturday April 25 with the concert "Women of the World" where Hindu, Haitian, Spanish and Inuit female artists will appear on the same stage.
